This is the other story of the world of Harry Potter.It was almost no relation between Harry Potter's stories and this story. Because its era is in the early 20th century and location is in New York.
I was really excited about an action of magics because it was my memory of childhood which I saw Harry Potter.
However I felt an atmosphere of this film is not really like series of Harry Potter. I thought this film is completely different film compared with others.
Personally, I believe that characteristic and attractive points of Harry Potter films are obviously in the school life in Hogwarts and youth's acting. These contents make a symphysis and an ambition in children's mind. But this film doesn't have that.

Therefore I think this is not necessary to relate to Harry Potter. I guess this is kind of branding.

This is a quite interesting story though if ignore that point. However it is impossible to ignore that because the story is not really remarkable. This film gets a lot of support from the brand of " Harry Potter".

 

Nevertheless, I really like a kind of comedy in this film. And sometimes it looks so beautiful. But I wonder that why are creatures' CG not so realistic? I thought the graphic of creatures in the philosopher's stone is much better than this. This film needs a physical creation for creatures for sure.

 

Modern Times

This is Charlie Chaplin's quite famous film. Charlie Chaplin is working in a factory. His salary is not enough and his job is boring. Slightly he was going to be crazy.
It describing kind of irony for the society. I'm not sure what was that properly but I can feel he wanted to try to explain something.

My curious was in its set design. In particular, in a scene of the factory, I really impressed about the detailed gears in the factory.

It is obviously explained that life doesn't change easily. And sometimes it depends on the wealth. Charlie Chaplin and its world look so fancy. But actually, it is representing a serious reality in this world.

Sweet Charity

A couple of songs are really famous and I think these are quite catchy. These obey to the style of Early American style of music (like CHICAGO...) And dance performances in this film are also quite artistic and iconic. But the problem is.. obviously in a script.

Because I think that the performances are not so much necessary.. but it took little bit long time. Communication between the story and songs are OK. But I'm not sure why is this story too serious? Musics sound like so positive and fancy.. On the other hand, the story is sort of nightmare. I couldn't accept an end. 

The worst thing is.. 20minutes before of the end, the story seems to be a happy ending. However, too much unlucky events are happen within 20 minutes. every atmosphere altered and I thought that every key points in this film mean nothing because of this rubbish ending.

This sort of problem also happen on the " The Rocky Horror Picture Show" as well..

Its story is also strange. But it is obvious that the Rocky Horror Picture Show's script means nothing. It just focus on making  a strange atmosphere, characters, and a worth as a entertainment show. But Sweet Charity, is not.

I thought that this movie is so fancy. However, some of the contents are so realistic. For example, It depicted the loneliness of elder person. And depressed feeling which came from the wife's death. Carl felt like he lost everything.
The first moment is so sad. It shows the relationship of Carl and his wife, Ellie. They met when they were in childhood. They loved adventure. Some years later, they were married. Carl and Ellie promised to go to the South America one day. However, They couldn't make a money and opportunity to go to the South America. Many times were passed and they got elder. Ellie got a sick and couldn't go South America whole life.
These scenes are great. But I guess this atmosphere and an adventure scene is separated. I couldn't find the relation.
So the balance of this movie between the first half and the second half are not equal. I prefer the first half.

Toy Story 2

I already watched 1 and 3 but actually, I never watched 2.
Jessie's story is so embarrassed me. That was so sad. A girl who had Jessie is mad. I can't do such a thing for my dolls.
However, also I thought about my toys. I have many toys in my house but recent years, I didn't touch them.
I guess many people think about same things as me. Honestly, the world of Toy Story is sometimes scared me. Because toys aren't died ever, but Toys never forget their owners. This is so sad and scary for me. I can't leave my toys!

パプリカ

A quality of animation is quite good. Dream world is really individual which contains a lot of Japanese culture like a Japanese doll, Torii, Japanese parade float.. I imagined that is like a Japanese matsuri. 
Story, was so complicated. A man who is inventor made DC mini which can go inside of someone's dream. But this invention is not completed. One day someone stole DC mini and use it for bad. many people go inside the strong dream and went to be crazy. 
"Paprika" decided to struggle with this problem.

Maybe all of audiences couldn't understand this properly. However that is correct way to see this film. I guess that director want to make confuse for audiences. Audiences can immerse its world deeply by this chaotic mood.

Youtubeで全編見れたから観てみた。

ビジュアルのクオリティは満点。日本的な文化を沢山取り入れたパレードのシーンなどは色鮮やかでキレイだった。

話はちょっとややこしい。DC ミニという発明品によって人の夢の中に入ることが出来るようになった世界で、それを悪用しようとした誰かによって沢山の人が夢に巻き込まれ、混乱していく。その中でパプリカがこの問題に立ち向かっていく。

多分誰も最初はこのストーリーを完璧に理解できないんだと思う。それがこの映画を見る上で正しい方法なのだと感じる。恐らくこの映画の監督はそういう混乱の中に観客を浸らせるということでより映画を現実的に感じさせるのが目的だったのでは無いだろうか。

音楽の話だっていうんで気になって見てみた。14歳っていう一番多感な年頃の子供達の葛藤と恋愛を描いていて、その中に音楽を志していた主人公が母の死から弾けなくなっていたピアノを、天真爛漫な女の子によってまた動かされ始める話。

ピアノやバイオリンの描写とか、コンクールの描写とかは凄い良かったし、選曲も中々にシブいのが多くてそれは良かった。けどまあ全体のストーリーとしては、登場人物の言葉を借りるなら陳腐だと思う。オチに言及するけど人が死んだりして話がシュッと収まっちゃう系の話は凄い苦手。大切な人が死んだっていうあまりにも大きすぎる事実はきっと明るくまとめられることばかりじゃなくて、後悔とか悲しみとかも山のようにあると思うのに、どうして死んだ→未来に向かって生きていこう！みたいな流れになるのかがいまいちつかめない。死んだなら死んだで、ちゃんと死んだってことを受け入れていく描写が欲しい。第一、この話は主人公が母の死にあそこまで追い詰められて2年間も受け止め切れずに居たのに、好きな子の死に対してはサラッとしていられるのはおかしい。

よくわからないけど、予想していたよりありきたりな内容だった。観てないけど、最近流行りの「君の名は。」みたいな臭いがするかも。

でも、音楽に向かっていく姿勢みたいなのは本当によく描写できているなあと思った。

それにしても、4月は君の嘘　って名前、3月のライオンとは関わりないのだろうか。

主人公の見た目とか境遇、キャラクターとかも凄い桐山に似ているので気になる。偶然ならとんでもない偶然だなあ。
